HURGHADA, Egypt. Tour operators, agents and destination partners weighing their Egypt programmes for the season ahead have a fresh set of benchmarks to work with. Rixos Hotels Egypt collected seven titles at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2026, staged on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, with wins spread across its resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria.

For the travel trade, the haul reads less as a single showpiece property and more as a portfolio that performs across categories. The recognised resorts span the all-inclusive, family, beach, heritage and luxury villa segments, giving agents distinct products to match against different client briefs rather than a one-size-fits-all sell.

What the awards mean for sellers

The breadth is the story for anyone building itineraries. An adults-only all-inclusive in Sharm El Sheikh, family-focused stays in Hurghada, a heritage address in Alexandria and a standalone luxury villa product each answer a different customer, and each now carries an independent industry marker that consumers recognise. That gives front-line sellers a clearer language when positioning the properties to travellers comparing options across the Red Sea and the Mediterranean coast.

The seven titles in full

  • Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026, Aqua Park, Rixos Premium Seagate, Egypt
  • Egypt’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only 18+
  • Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
  • Egypt’s Leading Family Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Seagate
  • Egypt’s Leading Heritage Hotel 2026, Rixos Montaza Alexandria
  • Egypt’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, Premium Villa @ Club Prive by Rixos Sharm El Sheikh
  • Egypt’s Leading Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas

Notably, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas took two of the seven, named both Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort and Egypt’s Leading Resort, while Rixos Premium Seagate carried the family and water-park honours. The double recognitions point trade partners toward the properties currently drawing the strongest guest feedback.

Reflecting on the results, Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, said: “We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their trust and support.”

A read on the Egyptian market

The clean sweep of leading-resort categories also signals continued momentum for Egypt as a leisure destination as the trade looks toward peak booking windows. For partners, a portfolio validated across so many segments in one night simplifies the case for keeping Egyptian product front and centre.

The winners were confirmed at the regional gala hosted by the World Travel Awards, whose annual programme is voted on by travel professionals and consumers worldwide.
